I was so happy to coordinate the wedding of Jay and Polly this past Saturday. Polly owns Honey Creek Farms and I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside her the last several months. They are one of the sweetest couples, and their love for one another is beautiful.
Their wedding was a fun, family affair! Unfortunately, the rain made us change plans but it all worked out. It literally rained right up until it was time to walk down the aisle! The tent set up right in front of the barn was gorgeous and beautifully decorated. Inside the barn, burlap and gold table runners were adorned with mini pumpkins, mason jars with tea light candles and beautiful floral centerpieces made by the bride’s family. I loved the high back chairs Polly and Jay sat in, surrounded by their family. They are actually from the foyer of their home, but looked beautiful at the front of the barn.
Mister Canteen catered but unfortunately had to leave their food truck at home because of the nasty weather. It didn’t keep the guests from enjoying the meal of pulled pork (homegrown at HCF!), grits, root vegetables and coleslaw. The kids had their own Chick-fil-a caterer and even a little area upstairs with glow sticks and activities. The meal was topped off with the wedding cake prepared by Polly’s dad: chocolate ganache with a raspberry filling.
The fun really began after the cake was cut and the dancing started. Jay danced with his new step-daughter to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” and Polly danced with her sons to “Shake Your Rump.” Guests were instructed by tablets on the tables to stand up and sing if they wanted the bride and groom to kiss, and we were all treated to a hilariously good rendition of “Keep Your Hands to Yourself” before the end of the night.
I hold this couple close to my heart and look forward to working with them on many more weddings. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Burrows! Be looking for more photos from their wonderful photographer Leah Moyers!
