I had such a great time at the Pinterest Comes to Life open house at Hunter Valley Farm yesterday! Walking around to each table, you could definitely pick up on some themes for this year:
Textured table runners
Table runners are a great way to add some color and jazz up a table without having to go overboard on other design elements. We loved that sequined table runners and tablecloths are becoming big. Done just the right way, they can add a little character to an elegant affair.
The Pantone color of the year could definitely be seen! One of our favorite tables had a patterned marsala tablecloth and a beautiful centerpiece that was big but not over the top. Small candles hung from the branches in the tall, cylinder vase. It was stunning.
This was by far my favorite new design element! Rustic, wooden flower boxes were filled with beautiful, simple arrangements and a array of vases and floating candles. It’s not only perfect for a wedding, but I kind of want one on my dining room table now! Those flower boxes can be painted any color or can be left alone for a slightly more rustic look. My favorite was the antique gray box with a mixture of green, white, purple and coral flowers. I can’t wait to create this look!
Anything other than traditional flower vases.
Seriously, anything goes.
I was also able to try some wonderful food from a variety of different caterers. All Occasion had a delicious slider and potato salad that would be great for an outdoor, summer wedding if you are going for a more relaxed reception. I also tried (and loved) the mini ham biscuits topped with carrot cake jam from Karen’s Katering. It was the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Karen’s also impressed me with their blt pinwheels, cream cheese stuffed mushrooms, and cheesecake pops. I’m looking forward to speaking with them and all the other great vendors I met last night so I can offer my brides the very best.
Thank you for hosting such a wonderful event Hunter Valley! Pin away, brides!
